Mike Bickle notes on Daniel. Isaiah 19. Egypt Syria - victory through unity.

INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OFPRAYER UNIVERSITY – MIKEBICKLE DANIEL: STUDIES IN THE END TIMES
Session 10b Israel, Egypt, and Syria in Victory and Unity (Isa. 19)
  1. ISRAEL, EGYPT, AND ASSYRIA: A BLESSING IN THE EARTH
    1. Daniel prophesied of the turmoil and suffering that Egypt, Syria, Israel will endure at the hands of the Antichrist in the end times (11:40-45). Daniel highlighted the intense military conflicts that will surely result in much loss of life as the Antichrist “overwhelms and then overthrows”these countries (11:40). But that is not the end of the story. The Lord will cause their pain and suffering to work together to fulfill His glorious purpose for these nations (Rom.8:28).
    2. Isaiah tells the end of the story—the Lord will deliver these nations and unite them with Israel to bring forth His special plan for them. Isaiah 19 describes God’s end-time plan for Egypt together with Israel and Assyria (the modern peoples and territories associated with it). The Assyrian Empire lasted about 500 years (1100–600 BC)—it includes parts of modern-day Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, along with parts of the Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia, eastern Turkey, and northern Iran.
24In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land [earth],25whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” (Isa. 19:24-25)
    3. After Jesus defeats the Antichrist, He will fully restore Israel, Egypt, and Assyria (Dan. 11:45). These three will be deeply united to the Lord and to one another to bring blessing to the nations. Daniel’s prophecy about the events coming to these nations (Dan. 11:21-45) is connected to Isaiah’s prophecy (Isa. 19:16-25). The two passages must be studied together.
  2. THE CONTEXT OF ISAIAH 19 IS CONNECTED TO DANIEL 11
A. Daniel prophesied of military conflicts between Egypt, Syria, and the Antichrist (11:40-45). The “king of the North” refers to the Syrian king, and the “king of the South” speaks of the Egyptian king (11:5-40). They will attack the Antichrist (11:40). These attacks against the Antichrist may be a preemptive strike before he invades Israel and the nations.
40“At the time of the end the king of the South [Egypt] shall attack him [Antichrist]; and the king of the North [Syria] shall come against him [Antichrist]like a whirlwind, with chariots ...with many ships; and he[Antichrist] shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41He shall enter the Glorious Land[Israel], and many countries shall be overthrown (Dan. 11:40-41)
  1. Syria may be the leading country in a Northern Confederacy (the king of the North, 11:40)—it will most likely be an Islamic/Arab bloc. They will attack the Antichrist like a whirlwind. Syria will be defeated and/or incorporated into the Antichrist’s kingdom.
  2. Egypt may be the leading country in a Southern Confederacy (the king of the South, 11:40, 42)—it will most likely be an Islamic/Arab bloc. They will attack the Antichrist. Egypt will be invaded and conquered for a season by the Antichrist (11:42-43).

    1. Egypt will be overthrown and occupied by the Antichrist’s military forces (11:42-43). This will give him control over Egypt’s national finances and natural resources.
42“He [Antichrist] shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt...” (Dan. 11:42-43)
    2. The Antichrist shall invade and occupy the Glorious Land of Israel (11:41, 45). He will plant part of his headquarters around Jerusalem. The “glorious holy mountain” speaks of the temple site in Jerusalem. The two seas are the Mediterranean Sea (in the west) and the Dead Sea (in the east).
45“And he [Antichrist]shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas [Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea]and the glorious holy mountain [Jerusalem]; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.” (Dan.11:45)
    3. The Antichrist will be defeated (11:45). Jesus will destroy him (7:11-14, 22, 26-27; 9:2711:45; 2 Thes. 2:8; Rev. 16:1619:20) by the very brightness, or radiance, of His appearance.
8Then the lawless one[Antichrist] will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. (2 Thes. 2:8)
    1. INTERPRETING ISAIAH 19
      1. When interpreting end-time prophecies, we remember the law of double reference. Prophecies concerning Israel and the nations often have two fulfillments: first, a partial fulfillment in history, and second, a complete fulfillment at the end of the age. We use the literal method of interpretation (grammatical-historical), which understands the Scripture in its most plain sense (i.e., face value). We look for the meaning which the author intended his audience to receive.
      2. The two most likely partial fulfillments of Isaiah 19:2-15 are that either Israel or the Philistines sought Egypt’s help in conspiring against Assyria. When Israel’s northern kingdom conspired against Assyria (724–721 BC), Israel’s King Hoshea sent messengers to Egypt’s king to gain support (2 Kgs. 17:4). Isaiah sought to keep Hezekiah out of this conspiracy with Egypt.
      3. The Egyptians were defeated by Assyria at Raphia (720 BC). When the Philistines sought Egypt’s help in resisting Assyria (713-711 BC), the Egyptians were of little help. Again, Isaiah urged Hezekiah not to get involved in that conflict. The civil and political strife in Egypt was far greater in 724-720 BC than in 713-711 BC. Sargon never again invaded Egypt after 720 BC, but established economic relationship with Egypt.
    2. TWO PRAYER PRINCIPLES
      1. Principle #1: The glory and judgment released in fullness at Jesus’ coming will be released in part now. We pray for the release in part of that which will be released in fullnessat His return.
      2. Principle #2: Some of the measure of glory or pressure that a geographic area will experience is in the balance of the prayer movement. Various geographic regions of Egypt will receive more or less glory and will experience more or less pressure depending on the amount of prayer offered.
         V. DECREE #1 (INDIVIDUAL): RELEASE THE FEAR OF GOD AND POWER (ISA.19:16-17)
        1. We can identify five prophetic decrees in Isaiah 19—each beginning with“in that day”(19:16- 17; 18; 19-22; 23; 24-25). I believe these five decrees will be commonly known among the Body of Christ before Jesus returns, as the Church partners in prayer with Jesus in His end-time plans.
        2. Unbelievers in Egypt will be gripped with the fear of the Lord in seeing God’s power on the church, and His judgments on the wicked (19:16). Those who refuse the grace of God will also be terrified by hearing the report of the Antichrist’s reign of terror in Judah (19:17).
16In that day Egypt will...be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which He waves over it.17And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts which He has determined against it. (Isa.19:16-17)
        3. Fear and terror are mentioned four times in Isaiah 19:16-17. This oracle is against those who refuse God’s grace. They will be afraid both of Jesus’ judgments and the Antichrist’s rage.
        4. Jesus will wave, or stretch forth, His hand to release power, including signs in the sky and on earth (Lk. 21:25-26; Acts 2:18-19). Jesus stretching forth His hand speaks of His power being manifest through His people, especially in the context of persecution (Acts 4:29-30).
29“Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,30by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus...” (Acts 4:29-30)
        5. Jesus will wave His hand to destroy the tongue, or gulf, of Egypt (Gulf of Suez or Aqabah) at the Red Sea and cause the Euphrates River to dry up.
15The Lord will utterly destroy the tongue[gulf] of the Sea of Egypt; with His mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River, and strike it in the seven streams... (Isa.11:15)
        6. The two witnesses will release plagues similar to those released by Moses on Egypt.
5Fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies...6These have power to shut heaven...they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues...10These two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. (Rev. 11:5-10)
        7. The Antichrist’s reign of terror is described as a scourge going through Judah (Isa. 28:14-19).
18When the overflowing scourge [of the Antichrist]passes through, then you will be trampled down by it...19It will be a terror just to understand the report. (Isa. 28:18-19)
        8. Jesus will show Himself to Egypt as the Lord of Hosts, the captain of the armies of heaven. Isaiah emphasized this name seven times in this chapter (Isa. 19:4, 12, 16, 17, 18, 20, 25).
        9. We pray, “Lord, wave Your hand of power to shake Egypt, so that they cry out for Your salvation. Release the spirit of the fear of the Lord. Stop ungodly leaders who resist You. Release Your hand over the house of prayer, and raise up apostolic and prophetic leadership.”

          1. DECREE #2 (REGIONAL): RELEASE A SPIRIT OF REVIVAL (ISA. 19:18)
            1. The spirit of revival will rest in an unusual way on five cities in Egypt before Jesus returns. This will happen to such a degree that these cities will swear to follow Jesus. They will be renowned for their dedication and boldness in the face of Islam and the Antichrist’s oppression (19:20).
18In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the LORD of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction [lit. City of the Sun]. (Isa.19:18)
            2. As part of end-time Jerusalem is spiritually referred to as Sodom (for her perversion) and Egypt (for her oppression of God’s people), so Israel under the Antichrist’s reign may be referred to as Canaan. He may present the land of Israel under his control as the “new promised land.”
8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city[Jerusalem]which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Rev. 11:8)
            3. To speak the “language of Canaan” means they will speak the primary language of the people who live in Canaan (Israel) in the end times. It probably means speaking Hebrew. The official language of Canaan was Arabic for 1400 years. In 1948, the primary language changed to Hebrew. It would not be a noteworthy prophetic event for five cities in Egypt to speak Arabic.
            4. Will they speak Hebrew? Why? Does this refer to Jews speaking Hebrew in these five cities (because they gathered to them in such large numbers)? Or will some Egyptians be called by the Holy Spirit to learn Hebrew inpreparation for the Jewswho will seek refuge in these cities?
            5. We pray, “Lord, release a spirit of revival, dedication, and boldness in five cities, and come in power to awaken five regions with an unusual outpouring of the Spirit.”
          2. DECREE #3 (NATIONAL): PRAYER MINISTRY & NATIONAL SALVATION (ISA. 19:19-22)
            1. The grace of prayer leading to a great revival and supernatural deliverance from the Antichrist will be released in Egypt before Jesus returns.
19In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.20It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORDbecause of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.21Then the LORDwill be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day...yes, they will make a vow to the LORDand perform it. 22The LORDwill strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. (Isa.19:19-22)
            2. Five stages: Egypt’s national oppression (stage #1) will create the context for a national prayer movement to mature (stage #2). This will lead to a national deliverance (stage #3), then national salvation (stage #4), then national healing of the land and social infrastructures (stage #5).
            3. A mighty prayer movement will be raised up that will cry out for God to remove wickedness until the nation repents and is fully healed (19:22). Prayer will release grace that prevents Egypt’s political leaders from joining the Antichrist by yielding to his seductions or threats.
              1. The Antichrist will function as an end-time Pharaoh who will oppress God’s people. The end- time saints will cry out for deliverance from oppression as Israel did in Moses’ day.
7“I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry...8So I have come down to deliver them...9The cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.” (Ex. 3:7-9)
              2. As Israel’s national salvation will come after Jesus returns, so will Egypt’s and other nations.
11Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him. (Ps. 72:11)
15The nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth... (Ps. 102:15)
              3. God will strike the wicked infrastructures in Egypt, and will then heal them as the nation prays.
19Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom a desolate wilderness... (Joel3:19)
              4. The prayer movement will continue to entreat the Lord until God fully heals the land.
1“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,14if My people...will humble themselves, and pray... then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chr.7:13-14)
              5. Egypt will build an altar and a pillar as expressions of gratitude. These will be memorials to their national deliverance and salvation (19:19-20).
              6. Egypt will follow through on their vows (19:21). The pillar will be a national monument at the border to testify of their devotion to Jesus.
              7. We pray, “Lord, release grace on a national prayer movement to contend with prevailing faith for national deliverance, salvation, and healing.”
VIII. DECREE #4 (INTERNATIONAL): RELEASE RECONCILIATION (ISA.19:23)
              1. A highway will facilitate international relationships, cooperation, and communication. Believers in Egypt will be unified with believers in Assyria—parts of modern-dayIraq, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, and parts of theGulf countries, Saudi Arabia, eastern Turkey, and northern Iran.
              2. The modern peoples from the lands of Egypt and Assyria will reconcile in the Lord. Arabs will reconcile with Arabs, and then Arab nations will reconcile with Israel in Christ.
23In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria. The Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. (Isa.19:23)
              3. Isaiah often referred to this literal millennial highway (Isa.11:16;19:23; 35:8; 49:11; 62:10).
16...a highway for the remnant of His people who will be left from Assyria... (Isa.11:16)
              4. We pray, “Lord, fully unify Egyptian, Syrian and Iraqi believers now as a first fruits.

IX. DECREE #5 (GLOBAL): RELEASE SUPERNATURAL UNITY (ISA. 19:24-25)
                1. Arabs will be fully reconciled with Israel, resulting in a blessing in the midst of the “land.”
In Hebrew, the wordaretzhas two meanings: the wholeearth, or thelandof Israel in particular. The word forlandis often translated “earth,” as in the NIV, NAS, and RSV.

24In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria-- a blessing in the midst of the land[earth],25whom the LORDof hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” (Isa. 19:24-25)
                2. Israel’s two longest-standing enemies will be fully reconciled to Jesus, then to Israel.
15...so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace... (Eph.2:15)
4The mystery of Christ...6that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs... (Eph. 3:4-6)
                3. The sons of Isaac and Ishmael will one day be fully united in Jesus. Thus, the blessing of Abraham will fill the earth and all the families of the earth will be blessed.
3In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. (Gen. 12:3)
                4. God’s glory will be poured out, resulting in the supernatural unity of Israel, Egypt, and Assyria (Jn.17:21-22). Unity comes as their national identity and destiny is understood by revelation (19:24-25). The names once reserved only for Israel will be given to Egypt and Assyria.
                5. There seems to be a progression in the Lord’s plan here. It starts with releasing fear on ungodly individuals. Next, five cities in Egypt are visited by the grace of God, releasing a revival spirit. Then the entire nation will worship Jesus. This is followed by deep international relationships among Arab brothers in Christ in Assyria. The blessing from this unity will impact the earth.
                6. Nations will relate together based on the identity that God gives them. It is not enough for these nations to know their identity in God. All the nations must know it so that we participate in unity around the Father’s table with a spirit of servanthood and rejoicing, not bitterness and rivalry.
                7. It is possible that the geographic area of the garden of Eden is restored in the Millennium, with the territory of these three ancient nations (Isa. 35:1-8; 51:3; Ezek. 34:29; 36:35; 47:6-12).
35They will say, “This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden...” (Ezek. 36:35)
                8. The blessing in the garden of Eden will spread to all the nations in the Millennium, until the whole earth is filled with God’s glory.
14For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD... (Hab.2:14)
6Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. (Isa. 27:6)
                9. We pray, “Lord, unify Arab and Jewish believers as a first-fruits, and cause all to see Your calling on each of these nations and to serve You together with joy.” (Eph.1:17-18).

Koinonia - The Great Commission

The whole world is dealing with ultimate issues now. This is “The Valley of Decision” that was prophesied. The foundations of civilization are being shaken. At the same time that human governments are failing, the kingdom of God is growing. We are in the times when Daniel 2 is being fulfilled. The statue that represents all of man’s kingdoms is  crumbling while the little stone that represents the kingdom of God is growing into a mountain or government, and it will keep growing until it fills the whole earth. Which are we building our lives on?
If we are to fulfill The Great Commission, to make disciples of all nations, the church is going to have to become the city we are called to be—a city on a hill, elevated, so that all can see its light. It was this city that compelled Abraham to leave Ur of the Chaldeans, the greatest culture of his time. He wandered in a wilderness not even knowing where he was going, but he knew what he was looking for—the city that God was building not man. Being a sojourner is still the nature of the true Christian walk of faith.
There are two basic Greek words used for church in the New Testament. One is ecclesia which speaks of the structure and government of the church. The other is koinonia that is the bonding relationship of the saints, which is loosely translated “fellowship” or “communion.” The ecclesia exists for the koinonia, not the other way around.
The church is called to be a family, not just an organization. We need organization, but the structure given to the local church in the New Testament was the most basic and simple imaginable—there were elders and deacons—that’s it. The life and power of the church was itskoinonia not the ecclesia.
In I Corinthians 10 and 11 we have the only reason given in The Bible for Christians being weak, sick, or dying prematurely. The reason for this is not havingkoinonia. The Apostle Paul warned us not to partake of the ritual of koinonia (the Greek word used for “communion” in this text) in an unworthy manner because doing so would bring judgment on ourselves. To partake of the ritual in an unworthy manner is when people partake even when they do not actually have what the ritual symbolizes and reminds us to have—koinonia. It is noteworthy that nowhere are we given such a warning about not having ecclesia.
Koinonia is far more than greeting each other and exchanging pleasantries before a service once or twice a week. This word represents a bonding together to such a degree that the parts cannot be separated without dying. This is why the apostle warns that not having this in our lives will result in weakness, sickness, and death. It is that vital to the Christian life.
Some may maintain that they have fellowship with the Lord and that is enough for them, but the Lord said that this was not enough. We cannot be rightly joined to the Head without also being rightly joined to His body. I’ve heard many say that they love God but just don’t like His people. However, as John wrote, we do not really love God if we do not also love His people. John also wrote that:
“If we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we will have fellowship (koinonia)with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin (I John 1:7).
If my hand is severed from my body, it will die quickly because the life blood cannot flow through it without being connected to the body. The same is true spiritually. We must havekoinonia to have the true life of Christ flowing through us. We can’t have all that koinoniaimplies by just having good chats with our friends over coffee. We can’t have it by looking at the back of their heads in services either. This level of relationship is a vital part of true Christianity, yet it is rarely found in Christianity today. We must find it.

Intro By Michael Sullivant:
Setting the Table
In July of 2013, two old friends, Bob Hartley and Bob Jones, met once again and had a divine appointment that has inspiring implications for many people beyond themselves. The night before their meeting, Bob Hartley had a vivid dream that included several themes with associated specific dates and names of people related to Bob Jones' spiritual history that confirmed the divine nature of this encounter.
We have found that the hundreds of "words of knowledge" that Bob Hartley offers to individuals provide a reason to believe that his frequent reports of private visitations from the Holy Spirit and their content are valid and trustworthy. He primarily functions as a prophetic "scout" for a number of "wagon masters" in ministry, business, and government.
Bob Hartley has been gripped by the Spirit of God from the time he was a boy for the purpose of revealing that God has inaugurated and is fanning the flames of a hope reformation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cities and nations of the earth in our day. He was led out of youth pastoring in the early 1990s to establish a janitorial company. It was during the long nights of cleaning theaters and office buildings that Bob cultivated his heart of adoration for God.
The Lord then began to show him many overlooked, forgotten, and even undiscovered "faces" of God in these night hours, which only deepened their conversational friendship. Hundreds of Bible verses regarding the nature of God opened up to him that confirmed the divine visions he was receiving. The Lord recently spoke to him in an audible voice that He is the "big God" and Bob is a "little janitor" who is called to go forth and simply tell the testimony of his God-encounters in hope and love. The Lord said that He would take care of all the rest!
Our heavenly Father is now activating His hope reformers to be His instruments for this global spiritual awakening and celebration. Since 1981, Bob has continued to have spiritual dreams and visitations that build upon one another and create an unfolding and ongoing prophetic narrative that relates to a Second Reformation of Hope that God has inaugurated. These dreams and visitations have intensified since 2007.
Following is the account of the prophetic dream and its interpretation. As the dream was happening, the Narrator referred to the various Bible passages to which we refer in this article and embedded their application into Bob's understanding. This article covers the first four scenes of this divine visitation. Our next article will cover the last four scenes of the dream and will include some practical "next steps."

Bob Hartley with Michael Sullivant: Four Stages of the Hope Journey Revealed: Testimony of God-Encounters
Prophetic words and encounters by Bob Hartley – scribed by Michael Sullivant:
Stages of the Hope Journey
Scene 1: Revealed Fissures

This dream was linked to a previous encounter that we described in a past article, called "The Hope Reformation: How Hope Heals the Heart." In the first scene of this encounter, the hope reformers were emerging out of the great banqueting hall where lightning bolts had manifested. These lightning bolts relate to God's indiscriminate power that is beginning to strike the earth. It's a good thing.
However, this intensified expression of divine power has an effect of also revealing and exposing fissures within the hearts of His beloved people who are called to be agents of a hope reformation. These cracks in our inner being can then become fractures and actually keep us from being fit and ready to pass on the true knowledge of God to others to the degree that He intends for us. Therefore, the Lord was meeting His needy and broken hope reformers in person as we came out from the hall.
Scene 2: Rest
After greeting us with great tenderness and strength, Jesus sat us down on a bench and began to oil our weary and cracked feet. These cracks represent the fissures within our hearts. No one was immune from having the need for the application of His divine hope to heal the fissures of our hearts. Bob understood that by seating us on this bench, Jesus Christ is beckoning us all into a new lifestyle and ministry style that speaks of His Sabbath rest. It does not imply inactivity, but a more clearly outlined divine leadership as to how we worship, relate to others (especially our family and friends), and labor.
He is giving us new grace and insight into how to synchronize our many responsibilities and priorities under His wise Lordship. We are to cease from our own labors and enter into the grace and power of His finished work. God revealed that there is an age-old demonic strategy to thwart to embrace this art of rest. The enemy will work to allow the good to become the enemy of the best. The Spirit said, "Letting go is hard to do, but letting go is good to do. Let go to Me."
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from His. Hebrews 4:9-10
He clearly said that He does not want this healing ministry for our hearts to be superficial in nature and that there is a danger that we will get up and get moving too quickly in our own strength.
They have healed the wound of My people lightly, saying, "Peace, peace," when there is no peace. Jeremiah 6:14
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength. But you were unwilling, and you said, "No! We will flee upon horses"; therefore you shall flee away; and, "We will ride upon swift steeds"... Isaiah 30:15-16
In this process of shifting over to a new "operating system," we will experience the unusual, divine strategy that Jeremiah refers to.
See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant. Jeremiah 1:10
For many of us there presently is a divine uprooting and tearing down coming to bear upon our lives and ministries that will clear the way for a coming season of divine building and planting. Things will "go dark" for a while, but we must resist the temptation to create our own light in the strangeness of the circumstantial darkness that God has allowed. Rather, we must simply trust the Lord to provide the light we need in His time.
Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of His servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God. Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment. Isaiah 50:10-11
At the proper time, our Teacher will come close to us, restore us and put us into a renewed frame of mind and spirit.
...The Teacher is here and is calling for you. John 11:28b
...yet your Teacher will not hide Himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. Isaiah 30:20
I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, My great army, which I sent among you. Joel 2:25
This work of Jesus to heal our hearts will cause us to be the kind of people, like Jacob, who providentially find themselves in the right place at the right time as a recipient of God's unmerited favor and fulfilled magnificent promises.

"Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven." Genesis 28:15-17
Our good Shepherd of Psalm 23 will reveal many faces of God to us in this season as we trust Him to lead and guide us. We are to become wrapped up in the Lord of this Psalm...Shepherd, Supplier, Healer, Pathway, Hope, Comfort, Defender, Imparter, Goodness and Mercy.
Scene 3: Relationships
Next, Bob saw that God's hope reformers were falling sideways rather than forward or backward, and it seemed odd to him. In the dream, he had the sense of literally falling and felt the anxiety that comes with it. However, the understanding came that this was referring to "falling into" a proper kind of interdependence the Father has ordained for us in our friendships with other Believers. The vulnerability that accompanies "falling" prepares us to embrace and engage in life-giving relationships with others. It is not independence or codependence that we need, but a radical middle solution for stale and unhealthy relational dynamics.
Bob saw the Lord leading us to connect with others whose "almond branches are budding." This means that God is leading His hope reformers to connect with others who 1) have God's authority resting upon them (like Aaron had in Numbers 17), and 2) whose delayed promises are now ready to burst forth (as God promised to perform His promises for Israel in Jeremiah 1).
And the staff of the man whom I choose shall sprout...and behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds. Numbers 17:5a, 8b
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Jeremiah, what do you see?" And I said, "I see an almond branch." Then the Lord said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it." Jeremiah 1:11-12
This relational reconnecting and newly formed connections will combine and be used by the Lord to bring redefinition, rediscovery, and redeployment on many levels of life and ministry. The Spirit promised that this dynamic will also work to "renew a right spirit within" us.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Bob saw a "liquid love" that began to flow between members of the Body of Christ that greatly helped to fuel this hope reformation that is underway across the nations in our day. (Again and again we have heard the Lord refer to an "acceleration by association" that He is engineering for His hope reformers.)
Scene 4: Revelation
In the next scene, it became clear that there is a step-by-step progression along this royal pathway into the hope reformation for the sons and daughters of the Lord. Embracing the previous stages of this journey of hope prepares our hearts to receive a tremendous increase of divine revelation from the Holy Spirit for our lives and ministries.
At first, the Lord said that it was like going from the Elijah era to the Elisha era by which He released a "double portion" of the Spirit. (The Lord has also revealed to us that He wants us, like Elisha, "to not take 'no' for an answer" in many situations in which we are asking for His greater favor.)
When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me." And he said, "You have asked a hard thing; yet, if you see me as I am being taken from you, it shall be so for you, but if you do not see me, it shall not be so." 2 Kings 2:9-10
However, the promised increase of the Holy Spirit's revelation did not stop with this "double." The Lord said that He intends to increase it ten-fold.
When Bob relayed this part of the dream to Bob Jones, Hartley, by a word of knowledge, referred to a divine commission that Jones had "received in the Ozarks in 1969." This turned out to be a powerful confirmation of this divine promise for them...and us! When Hartley returned home, his wife, Terry, relayed to him a dream she had while he was away about God suddenly taking us by an elevator from the first floor of a building to the tenth floor.
With this increase of revelation, we must continue to "live in rest" and not be anxious to proclaim our prophetic words until they are fully formed within our spirits. In the dream, Bob saw anxious people attempting to rip babies (i.e. prophecies) out of his belly before it was time for them to be delivered. The Lord was calling him to not allow this to happen.
Another feature of this fourth scene of Bob's dream relates to a new and more effective form of divine communion and prayer into which the Holy Spirit is inviting us. (Bob, and others, have seen this in many other prophetic encounters as well.) God is freeing us from the vanity of "rote" praying by calling us to sit as His partners at His counsel table. This has sometimes been called "informed intercession."
At this table we are inspired by the Holy Spirit to ask the kinds of questions that the Father wants to answer. We come to inquire of His great heart of hope. It is in this environment that enigmas are explained to us. It is in this atmosphere that powerful prayers of confession and declaration issue forth from God's hope reformers. It is in this culture of the Holy Spirit that God's "Pollyannas" are filled with hope and gladness in the face of any circumstance. (See our previous article "Be a People of Hope with a Courageous and Childlike Spirit - that Praises Him in the Face of Evil Despair.")
The Lord showed Bob that He is desirous of raising up multitudes of what He called "Kingdom churches" and "Kingdom organizations" that will validate the diverse callings upon their members and unleash them into every sphere of life and earthly culture to represent (re-present) Jesus Christ. They will usher the presence of God into their various circles of influence and engage in the manifold good works (both short and long-term, providential and miraculous) that God has prepared beforehand for them to exhibit.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10
We will report on the rich content of the final four scenes of this spiritual dream regarding the "Journey of Hope" and draw some important conclusions in our next installment.

Ten Shekels and a Shirt (2) - Paris Reidhead

Now I ask you; What is the Philosophy of Missions? What is the Philosophy of Evangelism? What is the Philosophy of a Christian?

If you’ll ask me why I went to Africa, I’ll tell you I went primarily to improve on the justice of God. I didn’t think it was right for anybody to go to Hell without a chance to be saved. So I went to give poor sinners a chance to go to heaven. Now I haven’t put it in so many words, but if you’ll analyze what I just told you , do you know what it is? Humanism. That I was simply using the provisions of Jesus Christ as a means to improve upon human conditions of suffering and misery. And when I went to Africa, I discovered that they weren’t poor, ignorant, little heathen running around in the woods looking for someone to tell them how to go to heaven. That they were Monsters of Iniquity! They were living in utter and total defiance of far more knowledge of God than I ever dreamed they had! They deserved Hell! Because they utterly refused to walk in the light of their conscious, and the light of the law written upon their heart, and the testimony of nature, and the truth they knew! And when I found that out I assure you I was so angry with God that on one occasion in prayer I told Him it was a mighty little thing He’d done – sending me out there to reach these people that were waiting to be told how to go to heaven. When I got there I found out they knew about heaven, and didn’t want to go there, and that they loved their sin and wanted to stay in it.

(Brother Paris speaks with great passion in this paragraph) I went out there motivated by humanism. I’d seen pictures of lepers, I’d seen pictures of ulcers, I’d seen pictures of native funerals, and I didn’t want my fellow human beings to suffer in Hell eternally after such a miserable existence on earth. But it was there in Africa that God began to tear through the overlay of this humanism! And it was that day in my bedroom with the door locked that I wrestled with God. For here was I, coming to grips with the fact that the people I thought were ignorant and wanted to know how to go to heaven and were saying, "Someone come and teach us!", actually didn’t want to take time to talk with me or anybody else. They had no interest in the Bible and no interest in Christ, and they love their sin and wanted to continue in it. And I was to that place, at that time, where I felt the whole thing was a sham and a mockery, and I had been sold a bill of goods! And I wanted to come home.

There alone in my bedroom as I faced God honestly with what my heart felt, it seemed to me I heard Him say, "Yes, will not the Judge of all the earth do right? The heathen are lost, and they’re going to go to Hell, not because they haven’t heard the gospel. They’re going to go to Hell because they are sinners, who love their sin! And because they deserve Hell. But……I didn’t send you out there for them. I didn’t send you out there for their sakes." And I heard clearly as I’ve ever heard, though it wasn’t with physical voice but it was the echo of truth of the ages, finding it’s way into an open heart. I heard God say to my heart that day something like this, "I didn’t send you to Africa for the sake of the heathen, I sent you to Africa for My Sake….They deserved Hell! But I love them! And I endured the agonies of Hell for them!!!! I didn’t send you out there for them! I SENT YOU OUT THERE FOR ME… Do I not deserve the reward of my suffering? Don’t I deserve those for who I died?"

And it reversed it all!! And changed it all!! And righted it all!! And I wasn’t any longer working for Micah and ten shekels and a shirt! But I was serving a living God! I was not there for the sake of the heathen. I was there for the Savior that endured the agonies of Hell for me, who didn’t deserve it. But He deserved them, (the heathen). Because He died for them.

Do you see? Let me epitomize, let me summarize. Christianity says, "The end of all being is the glory of God." Humanism says, "The end of all being is the happiness of man." And one was born in Hell, the deification of man; and the other was born in heaven, the glorification of God! And one is a Levite serving Micah, and the other is a heart that’s unworthy serving the living God, because it’s the highest honor in the universe.

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman condemned the explosion which occurred on Thursday in the Dahiyeh quarter in southern Beirut. According to him, the blast had the fingerprints of Israel, and its purpose is to destabilize Lebanon. Lebanese Prime Minister elect Tamam Salam told Lebanese media that Israel has the most to gain out of the blast. He added that this was a cowardly act, meant to harm Lebanon. Lebanon Interior Minister Marwan Charbel in a television also pointed blame at Israel, saying that the blast may have been in retaliation to last week's explosion near the Israel-Lebanon border, which Hassan Nasrallah said Wednesday was perpetrated by Hezbollah.
