The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare. Many will stumble and fall, never to rise again. They will be snared and captured.” Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me. I will wait for the Lord, who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in him. I and the children the Lord has given me serve as signs and warnings to Israel from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies who dwells in his Temple on Mount Zion. Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness. (Isaiah 8:11-18, 20-22 NLT)

James Goll. Transforming FAITH.

James Goll: Transforming Faith: Believe
by James Goll
May 22, 2013

Faith Defined
A. Faith is a constant, abiding trust in something. Biblically, faith means trust in God (or, as our primary study passage, Hebrews 6:1, puts it, "faith toward God"), not faith in other people or things, in feelings, or in circumstances.
Faith in God gives us the ability to believe His Word and to appropriate it in our lives. Faith, which comes only after we repent of our self-sufficient trust, does not depend upon the acquisition of information or on prior experience, because it originates in our hearts or spirits rather than in our minds. By faith, we stay connected to the Source of life.
That is why the Word tells us that "without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).
God is our Father, and He dearly desires to share His life with us. Without faith, we cannot respond to His invitation, which is another way of saying that without faith, we cannot please Him. Without faith, we lack the means to respond to Him.
We can believe in and have faith in God because of who He is. His Word is true and He Himself is completely incapable of telling a lie. He is trustworthy in the truest sense of the word. Anyone who puts his or her whole trust in Him will not be disappointed.
1. Hebrews 11:1, New King James Version (): "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
2. Hebrews 11:1, Amplified Bible (AMP): "Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]."
3. Hebrews 11:1, New American Standard Bible (NASB): "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
4. Hebrews 11:1, New International Version (NIV): "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
B. Two Greek words are translated "faith" in the New Testament:
1. Pistis (noun)
a. That which causes trust and faith; faithfulness and reliability, solemn promise or oath; proof or pledge
b. Trust, confidence, and faith (in the active sense)
c. That which is believed (a body of faith or belief, a doctrine)

2. Pisteuo (verb)
a. To believe in something, to be convinced of something
b. To trust or believe in God or Christ (with or without a sense of reliance upon God's willingness and ability to help and save)

C. Faith is a present reality. Faith is as definite an assurance of the promises of God as a legal title deed. Faith is your contract. Faith states unequivocally, "This is yours. You possess this." "Assurance" in the Greek is the same word used for "reality" or "actual being" (as opposed to what merely seems to be), and also to the realization of something, such as a plan.
D. Faith must be contrasted with hope. Hope has to do with waiting for something, while faith does not. Hope is not a present reality. Hope means a desire or an expectation of something in the future. Both hope and faith deal with the realm of the unseen, and they are founded upon God's Word. (See Romans 8:24; 2 Corinthians 5:7. See also Romans10:17; 15:4.)
See how closely faith and hope are connected together: "By faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope" (Galatians 5:5 NIV). Without Christ, we can have no such hope (see Ephesians 2:12; 1 Thessalonians4:13), for hope is rooted in saving faith (see Romans 5:1–5). Hope breeds an atmosphere of faith.
E. Faith is a certainty. Faith looks into the unseen, and it sees things. Faith speaks from the temporal into the eternal, and it calls forth from the eternal realm that which is not yet present in the temporal realm. It pulls eternal reality into your earthly existence. Faith, in other words, is like a magnet, drawing the eternal promises of God into the now.
How can we have such certainty? We can have a solid "conviction of things not seen" because it is based upon the Word of God. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17 ). Nothing is more certain than that.
1. Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. Romans 4:20–21 NLT
2. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
3. God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Numbers23:19
F. Faith must be contrasted with sight. Faith is more certain than the things we can see. In fact, "We live by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV).
1. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
2. Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3 NASB
3. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13
4. Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" John 11:40
What Causes Faith to Arise?
A. Faith arises by the preaching of the Gospel. In the words of Paul to the Romans: "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).

Elijah Harper passed away & an earthquake happened. Kenny Blacksmith from gathering Nations ministries.

GNI Update May 18, 2013

Yesterday began unlike any other day. It was a day that will not easily be forgotten.

Early this morning I woke up with a flutter in my heart. I came down quietly to sit before the Lord, inquiring about this feeling. After a time of prayer and worship in deep reflection I remembered how in 1997 the late elder Andrew Maracle had come to Ottawa to visit me with a message that I was to carry the message of healing, and reconciliation to the next level in our nation. He prayed for me and left me wondering about his visit and all that was said. A few months later another elder and author, John Sanford, called me early one morning asking to meet with me. We met and he prophetically handed me a crown and a sceptre saying that when the Lord had called him, He had given him a crown and sceptre, and that the Lord had told him these gifts were to be handed down to me. We prayed and once again, I was left alone wondering about this meeting. Shortly thereafter, Elijah Harper also met with me and we talked about the healing and reconciliation needs in Canada. Some months later in a meeting at the National House of Prayer, Ottawa, with leaders and MPs, he turned to me and said: "It's your turn now, to run with the healing and reconciliation in our people and nation. This is as far as I can take it. It's your turn."

The journey since then has not been an easy one, but what a joy it has been to serve the Lord. In 2006, a historic repentance and forgiveness between the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples gave birth to The Covenant of the First Peoples of Canada as a spiritual foundation in our nation. In 2008, our Prime Minister apologized for the historic wrongs on our people through the Indian Residential School policy; he said: "We are sorry, please forgive us."

It has been said that a genuine apology opens the door to the possibility of forgiveness and reconciliation, and that genuine forgiveness removes the barrier that was created by the offense and opens the door to restoring trust. We can therefore say that a genuine apology always reaches out for forgiveness, and forgiveness sets the stage for meaningful reconciliation. The word of God gives us a divine model to follow: we can forgive others because God has forgiven us for our wrongdoing, through our Savior Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the cross. If we confess our sins and repent, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. We do have the capacity to forgive through Christ.

In June 12, 2010, at the Forgiven Summit, we did this. We responded to Prime Minister Stephen Harper's request to be forgiven by releasing The Charter of Forgiveness and Freedom. With faith in God this was, and will always be, key and fundamental to restoring trust in our relationships in Canada. We can walk with God again in His garden - we call Canada!

Early yesterday morning, I remembered the many friends I had lost, who had turned against me because of this journey of freedom founded on forgiveness. I ha
not interlaced ping
d even almost lost my own life because of a severe spasm of the heart.

Alone in deep reflection, I remembered how the recent deaths of the late Chief Billy Diamond, Ross Maracle, and Richard Twiss, all who had supported and believed in this journey and who chose to stand by me, had deeply and profoundly affected me.

At 9:00 am, I received word that Elijah Harper had passed on. Upon hearing the news I immediately drove to the hospital to be with his wife Anita and her children. While I was there with them, I realized why I had felt the way I had earlier that morning, and why Elijah had been brought to my mind. I was privileged and honoured to stand with his family at the hospital and to pray for them during this time of the loss of their loved-one.

Elijah will forever be in my heart because he was my good friend. There was a level of trust in our friendship so much so that one day he handed me the baton to run with healing and reconciliation for our people and for our nation. Most of all I thank the Lord for giving me the honour to have co-laboured with him. I will greatly miss Elijah, and I will never forget the stand he took for our people, and for our nation.

An eagle feather has fallen softly and quietly in our nation. We take this moment to honour a brother and a leader in the Kingdom of God here in our nation.

It is never easy to lose a friend. You always find yourself feeling all alone to walk the path ahead of you, and you wonder, is it worth it all?

In March of 1975, Dr. Billy Graham stated, "The Native American is a sleeping giant. He is awakening. The original Americans could become the evangelists who will help win America for Christ!"

We were created for such a time as this! Is there any wonder why we have been under the greatest challenges to date, as we have been in our people and nation?

We must never, ever, give up on the vision and the mission that God has given us. We must press on no matter what! We will take a stand in honour of those who have gone before us, and in honour of our capacity in Christ to achieve whatever is still ahead of us.

Nelson Mandela once said during his darkest hours in prison,"The sight of freedom looming on the horizon should encourage us to redouble our efforts!"

The Stand on June 21-23, 2013 is just around the corner and we need to redouble our efforts. For whatever I've got in time and in life, I know I must continue on with increased effort, and this one sure thing I know - I need you to be with me in Ottawa. Let's do this together to the honour and glory of God.
