What is HUMAN? From the youngest to the oldest? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q04-l2cm1oQ&sns=em
From abortion to euthanasia, the question is the value of life. Countries that have opened the door to euthanasia are now reporting alarmingly high rates of doctor assisted death. For example, when first opening the door to euthanasia Belgium authorities said it would be fore rare cases only where a patients suffering could not be treated. In 2003 they had 235 cases of euthanasia. In 2011 this number sky rocketed to 1133. Ten years after Belgium legalized euthanasia 1 out of 100 deaths in the nation are the result of it.
An article recently sent to us by Alain Caron put it this way:
"What are they talking about in Belgium these days? Allowing minors to be able to request euthanasia. Mrs. Carine Brochier, from the European Institute of Bioethics, who has been fighting against euthanasia since the beginning, said in the interview, “Who will judge the maturity of this child when we refuse him the right at 14 years old to buy a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of alcohol or to get married? There are legal acts a child can not legally do, yet the most serious act, to put an end to one’s life, we will authorise him to do, on the pretext of an intolerable suffering.”
The Canadian reporter then asked her, “What message would you give to the Quebecois who are about to debate that question?” Her answer: “Don’t open the door, don’t open the door (…) What we need to try to learn again is how to become the best with palliative care and not the best with euthanasia.'"
